🌎 Translations synchronization: how does it work?

SyncBase lets you manage all your Shopify translations directly from Airtable, in real time. During onboarding, you choose the languages you want to sync, and the app takes care of the rest. Each translation becomes editable in Airtable, just like any other field.

Translations synchronization is available starting from the Elite plan.

How translations are synced

During onboarding, you can select the languages (locales) you want to synchronize with Shopify.

Once the setup is complete, SyncBase automatically structures your Airtable-synced base to handle translations.

Dedicated fields per language

For each translatable field, SyncBase creates one Airtable field per language, for example:

  • Title (EN)
  • Title (FR)
  • Description (EN)
  • Description (FR)

This works in:

  • A brand-new Airtable base, or
  • An existing base you choose during onboarding

Each record represents a Shopify object such as a Product, Variant, Metafield, or Metaobject entry.

Editing translations from Airtable

You can edit translated content directly from Airtable, language by language.

Any change made in Airtable is instantly synced back to Shopify

Supported Shopify content

Translations synchronization works for all Shopify translatable content supported by SyncBase, including:

  • Products
  • Metafields
  • Metaobjects

As long as the content is translatable in Shopify, it can be managed from Airtable.

Common use cases

Here are a few ways merchants use translations sync in practice:

  • Centralize all Shopify translations in a single Airtable base
  • Use Airtable automations or AI to pre-fill or review translations
  • Bulk edit or QA translations across multiple languages
  • Track missing or outdated translations per locale
