✚ How to create a new product from Airtable with SyncBase?

Good news — you can create a new Product directly from Airtable!

There are two ways to do it, depending on your workflow and how much data you want to input right away.

Method 1: create a blank new record


This method is ideal if you want to manually create a single new product.


  1. In Airtable, go to the Products tab.
  2. Create a new record (just add a new row).
  3. Wait a few seconds — SyncBase will automatically fill in the default data.
  4. Start editing your new product directly in Airtable!



Method 2: create a new record with data


This method is perfect if you want to create multiple products and push them to Shopify all at once.


  1. Go to the the Products.
  2. Add a new record with your data — via a Form, Automation, or Script.****

Important: Do not fill in the Product ID column — SyncBase will automatically generate it using the ID provided by Shopify.

  1. Wait a few seconds — SyncBase will push the data to Shopify and return the Product ID and the Handle (if you didn’t set it).
  2. If needed, start editing your new product as needed!



Duplicates handles


When creating a new product, make sure not to use a handle that already exists. Shopify rejects duplicate handles and will not create the product if the handle is already in use.


Good to know


  • Products created from SyncBase are in DRAFT status by default.

You can change the status to ACTIVE directly from your synced Airtable base.

  • A variant record (named Variant by default) will also be created in the Variants tab. If you synchronize metafields, the linked records will appear in both the Product Metafields and Variant Metafields tabs.
