๐ Can I move my synced base to another workspace?
Unfortunately, no โ moving your synced base to another Airtable workspace will break the synchronization.
When you first set up SyncBase, you connect a specific Airtable workspace using your workspace ID and Personal Access Token. If you later move the synced base to another workspace (for example, after switching from a paid trial to a free plan), that connection token breaks and your data stops syncing.
Why moving the base breaks the sync
SyncBase relies on both your base ID and your workspace access (workspace ID + Personal Access Token). The token is tied to the workspace the base lived in when you connected it. Move the base to another workspace and that token no longer matches โ SyncBase loses access and the Airtable Token status shows as broken.
This is different from a token that broke for other reasons (changed scopes, ownership, or permissions).

How to fix it if you already moved your base
The connection can't be patched โ you'll recreate it. You can keep your own base; you'll just re-run the sync generation on it.
1. Delete your Airtable connection
In the SyncBase app (inside Shopify), open Settings and scroll to the bottom of the page to delete your Airtable connection.

2. Reconnect Airtable
Still in the SyncBase app, reconnect Airtable with your workspace ID and Airtable Personal Access Token.

3. Delete the old SyncBase sync tables
If you want to reuse the same base, first delete the tables and columns SyncBase created for you previously (the synced Products, Variants, Variants Metafieldsโฆ tables). SyncBase recreates them during generation โ if they already exist, the generation will fail.
4. Re-run the base generation
Launch the base generation again from the SyncBase app. You can keep and use your own base โ SyncBase will regenerate the sync tables and resync your Shopify data.
๐ How to sync your own/existing base to the base SyncBase generated
Good to know
- Keep the base in the workspace you connected it from.
- Rebuilding gives you a fresh sync โ your Shopify data is untouched and will sync back into the base.
