Add a column (with any type and name except one already existing)
Add a tab (with any name except one already existing)
Link your synced base to another base
Switch columns and tabs order (even with those you’ve add)
Create custom views and interfaces
Bulk update your data
Create automation
Create a new record inside the Products tab (= create a new Product inside Shopify)
Create a new record inside the Collections tab (= create a new Collection inside Shopify)
Rename your base name (Shopify Shop > Name you decide)

Don'ts

Delete a tab or a column we’ve created inside your synced base
Rename a tab or a column we’ve created inside your synced base
Change a column type we’ve created inside your synced base
Change/update any data linked to “columns ID” (Example: Product ID)
Create a new record in a synced tab other than the Products and Collections tabs
Run a import with another app (Airpower or Matrixify) AND make updates on Airtable in the same time
Reordering products images (Instead delete and re-upload)
Select or change for the wrong plan (Premium if you have 10K variants). This could stop your synchronization. Be sure to respect pricing.
Delete or duplicate a record within a tab (if you want to delete, you can do via Shopify)

🛠️ How to create a staging environment within Airtable?

By default, SyncBase syncs your Airtable base instantly with your Shopify store. This means that any change made to your Airtable records is immediately pushed live. While this is perfect for quick updates, it can be risky when you want to prepare large changes — like updating your entire product catalog — before making them public. To solve this, you can create a staging environment directly inside your synced Airtable base. In this tutorial, we'll explain the concept and walk you through a real example for managing your Products.

Understanding the Solution

The idea is simple:

Create a new tab that duplicates the structure of your synced tab (e.g., Products).
This staging tab will not be synced with Shopify.
You can safely add, update, and delete records in this tab without affecting your live store.
Once your updates are ready, you manually push the changes to the live (synced) tab using an automation or a script.
This way, you can review and control when your data goes live.

🛒 Orders Shipping informations are not updating: what’s happening?

Accepted Answer

If you want to edit a Shipping Address from Airtable, then Shopify requires a complete address.

Which mean that you need to provide, at least, these informations:

Shipping First Name
Shipping Last Name
Shipping Address 1
Shipping City
Shipping Postal Code
Shipping Country

Otherwise, Shopify API won’t accept any update from Airtable.

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Add a new field in Airtable

In your Products table:

Create a field called Product Description Rich Text → Field type: Long text, enable rich text formatting.

2. Set Up the Automation

Go to Automations > Create new automation. Trigger:

Trigger type: When a record is updated
Table: Products
Field: Product Description Rich Text Action:
Action type: Run a script In the script editor:

Click “+ Add input variable”
- Name it: recordId

👮 Shopify & Airtable API limits

As a connector we’re using both Airtable and Shopify API to run. And these tools impose API limitations regarding your plans.

Shopify

API calls : number of API calls per second is limited. This can slow your sync.

Airtable

Numbers of records: Airtable authorize a number of records per base. This can prevent us from creating a sync base because we can not add all your products/variants/orders & co as your records limits is reached.
API calls: Airtable also limit the number API calls per month for their Free and Team plans.
