Understanding how the synchronization works is the best way to make the most of SyncBase. Make sure you read the do's and don'ts before starting with your new synced base.

Do's

Q: ⚡️ Sync speed

Data is synchronized in real-time (few seconds). Please consider these two parameters to understand deeper on what speed is based. <ul> <li>API health: SyncBase is based on Shopify and Airtable APIs. If one of these tools have API issue this will reflect on SyncBase.</li> <li>API calls limitations: each Shopify store has a number of API calls per second authorized according to your Shopify plan.</li> </ul> || If synchronization is unusually long even regarding elements explained in this ticket, please contact us through our app chat.

Add a column (with any type and name except one already existing)
Add a tab (with any name except one already existing)
Contact us if you need a custom sync (eg. Delete a tab or a column we’ve created inside your synced base)
Link your synced base to another base
Switch columns and tabs order (even with those you’ve add)
Create custom views and interfaces
Bulk update your data
Create automation
Create a new record inside the Products tab (= create a new Product inside Shopify)
Create a new record inside the Collections tab (= create a new Collection inside Shopify)
Rename your base name (Shopify Shop > Name you decide)
Use external app (Zapier, Make, OpenAI…) to work on your synced base.

Don'ts

Rename a tab or a column we’ve created inside your synced base
Change a column type we’ve created inside your synced base
Change/update any data linked to “columns ID” (Example: Product ID)
Create a new record in a synced tab other than the Products and Collections tabs
Run an import with another app (Airpower or Matrixify) AND make updates on Airtable in the same time
Reordering products images (Instead delete and re-upload)
Select or change for the wrong plan (Premium if you have 10K variants). This could stop your synchronization. Be sure to res

💎 How SyncBase works?

You never install SyncBase just for fun—there’s always a purpose behind it! This guide explains what SyncBase offers (App, Studio, and Support) and how everything works together to streamline your operations.

Base generation

Once connected to Airtable, need can set up an Airtable-synced base. And either choose our 1-click set up (with default settings) or customize your synchronization.

1-click set up

Once connected to Airtable, a single click is all it takes to generate an Airtable-synced base for your store with default settings.

The app will then generate a new base in your Airtable workspace with 8 tabs:

Products
Products Metafields
Variants (including Inventory)
Variants Metafields
Last 3 months Orders (including Line Items)
Orders metafields
Last 3 months Customers
Customers Metafields

From this synced Airtable base, you can add, update, or delete data as needed.

| To keep things efficient during your base generation, we sync only your 250 most recent orders. New orders will sync automatically.

Custom synchronization

Our default setup works for most users—but if you need something different, we’ve got you covered. You can request a custom sync: exclude certain data, connect to an existing Airtable base, or tailor the setup to your workflow.

✚ How to create a new product from SyncBase?

Accepted Answer

Good news — you can create a new Product directly from Airtable! There are two ways to do it, depending on your workflow and how much data you want to input right away.

Method 1: create a blank new record

| This method is ideal if you want to manually create a single new product.

In Airtable, go to the Products tab.
Create a new record (just add a new row).
Wait a few seconds — SyncBase will automatically fill in the default data.
Start editing your new product directly in Airtable!

Method 2: create a new record with data

| This method is perfect if you want to create multiple products and push them to Shopify all at once.

Go to the the Products.
Add a new record with your data — via a Form, Automation, or Script.**** *Important*: Do not fill in the Product ID column — SyncBase will automatically generate it using the ID provided by Shopify.
Wait a few seconds — SyncBase will push the data to Shopify and return the Product ID and the Handle (if you didn’t set it).
If needed, start editing your new product as needed!

Duplicates handles

When creating a new product, make sure not to use a handle that already exists. Shopify rejects duplicate handles and will not create the product if the handle is already in use.

Check your Airtable and Shopify limits

Note that both tools set limits according to your plan.

Shopify API limitation: Shopify authorize a number of API calls per second. This can slow your sync.
Airtable records limitation: Airtable authorize a number of records per base. This can prevent us from creating a sync base because we can not add all your products/variants/orders & co as your records limits is reached.
Airtable also limit the number (see their pricing page) API calls per month for their Free and Team plans. Note that if you hit the limits you will need to change your Airtable plan. Keep in mind that if you do a lot of operations you might need a higher plan on these tools.

SyncBase makes it easy to synchronize data from multiple Shopify stores using Airtable. Whether you want all your data in one place or prefer to keep separate bases linked to a central master base, SyncBase supports both workflows.

Method 1: Add your synced data to an existing base

| This method is ideal if you want to manage everything in one base.

Install SyncBase on each Shopify store you want to sync.
During setup, choose Sync data to an existing base and enter the same base ID for each store.
To keep things organized, rename each synced tab to include the store name (e.g., Products → Products – Store A).
That’s it! All your store data is now centralized in one Airtable base.

Method 2: Linked your synced bases to one master base

| Ideal for more advanced setups or when you need flexibility.

Install SyncBase on each Shopify store.
During setup, choose Generate a new synced base for each store.
In Airtable, use the built-in base-to-base sync feature to pull selected data into a single master base. This lets you control what and how you sync across stores.
