🌅 Images synchronization: how does it work?
SyncBase allows you to sync product images between your Shopify store and Airtable. You can add new images, assign featured images to variants, and manage them directly from your Airtable base.
Adding new images from Airtable
You can add new images via your Airtable synced base.
Here’s how :
- Open the
Productstab. - Locate the
Imagescolumn. - Upload new images from your preferred source (local files, URL, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.).
- That’s it! SyncBase will automatically sync the images to your Shopify store.

Setting a variant’s featured Image
You can define which image should be displayed for each variant:
- Go to the
Variantstab in Airtable. - Locate the
Featured image (from rank in Product images)column. - Enter the number that corresponds to the image’s position in the
Imagesfield of the related product.
- For example, entering
1will select the first image.
- Done! That image will be used as the variant’s featured image.
Good to know & current limitations
- Reordering images in Airtable is not currently supported. To change the order, delete the existing images and re-upload them in the desired sequence.
- Images added via the Shopify admin are not automatically synced to Airtable. Shopify doesn’t trigger a webhook when images are uploaded in the admin. To update your Airtable base with these new images you can use the refresh feature in your synchronization tab.
- Maximum image size you can upload to Shopify is 20 Mo.
- Image/file name is changed (by Shopify API) for a default one during the upload from Airtable to Shopify. And you can't rename it yet on your Airtable-synced base.
