🤖 How to use Airtable automations with SyncBase

Don't want to enter everything by hand? You can use Airtable's native automations to create or update Products, Variants, and Metafields in Shopify directly from your synced base.

Before you build

Read the dedicated article for the action you want to automate first — Every article explains the exact workflow and required fields your automation must follow.

Use the right triggers and add delays

Choose your Airtable trigger based on what should kick off the automation — when a record is created, when a field changes, or on a schedule.

⚠️ When a step sends data to Shopify, Shopify processes it and sends back an ID (e.g. Product ID). Any following step that relies on that ID must wait. Always add a delay of 10–30 seconds between creation steps and steps that depend on their result.

Automations and bulk updates

If your automation processes many records at once, you can hit API rate limits and block the queue for all other updates. Always process in batches.
