# ➖ How to delete a product/variant from SyncBase?

For safety reasons, the option to delete all records from your Airtable-synced base—and therefore all related Shopify products—is disabled by default. This feature is highly sensitive because it can erase your entire product catalog in under 30 seconds.

# Recommended way to delete products

To safely delete products from your Shopify store that are synced with Airtable, follow these steps:
1. **In Airtable**: Filter the products you want to remove.
2. **Tag the products**: Add a tag like `To delete` to each one.
3. **In Shopify**: Use the tag filter to locate those products.
4. **Bulk delete** the selected products directly from Shopify.!

# Recommended way to delete Variants

Variants **can't be deleted directly from Airtable** either, for the same protection reason.

||| Unlike Products, Variants can't be tagged individually in Shopify. Use a synced field instead to flag the ones you want to remove.

How to delete Variants safely:
1. **In Airtable**: Update a field that's synced to Shopify to flag the Variants you want to remove — for example, set a specific **Price** (e.g. `0.01`) or add a suffix to the **Variant Name** (e.g. `- TO DELETE`).
2. the updates **sync automaticall**y to Shopify
3. **In Shopify**: Filter your Variants using that same field (price or name).
4. **Delete** the flagged Variants directly in Shopify.
5. If you deleted a lot of Variants: **Run a base refresh** from the Operations panel of the app and choose: "Refresh Products and Variants tables"
