# ✚ How to create a new company from Airtable with SyncBase?

|| This feature is currently in beta and available on the **Elite** and **Enterprise** plans. To get access, simply contact us via the in-app live chat.

SyncBase allows you to create new Shopify companies directly from Airtable, without going through the Shopify admin.

# Before you start

Make sure:

* SyncBase is installed on your Shopify store
* You have generated your Airtable sync base
* Your `Companies` table is visible and synced
* Check the status page in your app: is the task queue down to 0?

# How company creation works

Shopify requires a `Company name` to create a company.
If this value is missing when the record is created, Shopify will reject the request.

||| You cannot create a blank record and fill it later. The `Company name` must be filled at the moment the record is created.

# Step-by-step: Create a new company

### 1. Create a new record in the `Companies` table

You must create the record with the required field already filled.

Minimum required field:

* `Company name`

You can create this properly using:

* Airtable Forms:

Or also with:
* Airtable Automations
* Airtable Scripts
* Custom Interfaces

### 2. Wait a few seconds

SyncBase sends the request to Shopify automatically.

If everything is correct, Shopify creates the company and returns its ID. A `Company ID` will appear in your new record, and you can now start editing the company directly in Airtable.

### 3. (optional) Confirm in Shopify

Open `Companies` in Shopify.
Your new company should now be visible and live.

# Fields you can fill from Airtable

Do not fill `Company ID`. This value is automatically generated by Shopify.

You may set other company fields — such as contact details, addresses, or company-level settings — after creation, once the `Company ID` has been returned.
If you are not sure about the formatting of the entries, best is to create a Test record from Shopify to see, how you need to fill in the different fields and then fill your records in Airtable accordingly.

### Real-time synchronization

Company creation and updates are processed in real time. As soon as a record is added or updated in Airtable, SyncBase sends the change to Shopify.

# Beta limitations

Because this feature is still in beta:

* Access is not enabled by default ( + Elite and Enterprise plans only).
* Some advanced company fields or edge cases may not be supported yet.
