# 🗑️ Delete a synchronization

If you want to pause your synchronization or start from scratch, you can delete your current sync in a few steps. This action will disconnect the synced Airtable base from your Shopify store, without deleting any data. Your Airtable token will remain functional, please do not modify it.

|| Good to know: Delete a **synchronization**, if you simply want to sync a different base. If you want to fully disconnect your Airtable account from Shopify instead, delete your Airtable connection as described in[ this article.](https://help.syncbase.app/en/article/delete-an-airtable-connection-13irct1/)

# Steps to delete your synchronization

1. **Open the SyncBase app** from your Shopify admin.
2. Go to the **Operations** tab.
3. **Scroll down to the bottom** of the page.
4. Find the **Delete synchronization** section.
5. Click on the **Delete synchronization** button.

# What happens next

Your synchronization will be removed, meaning your Shopify store is no longer connected to the Airtable base.

* Your **Airtable base remains intact** (no data is deleted).
* Your **Airtable account stays connected** to SyncBase.
* Only the **link between your store and this specific base** is removed.

You can generate a new synced base anytime if you want to restart your setup.

# Can I reconnect my old base after deleting the synchronization?

Not directly. Once a synchronization is deleted, that specific base can't simply be reconnected as-is. But there's a workaround, especially useful if you have **automations, views, or linked records** in your old base that you'd like to reuse.

||| This is a manual workaround, not an official "reconnect" feature. It works because SyncBase re-creates its tables when it generates a new sync on the same base — your existing tables and automations are left untouched.

### The workaround

* Keep your existing Airtable base as it is — do not delete or duplicate it.
* Rename the SyncBase-created tables you want to keep, for example `Products` → `OLD Products`, `Variants` → `OLD Variants`.
* Generate a new synchronization using the o**ld base ID**. SyncBase will create fresh `Products`, `Variants`, etc. tables in it.
* Update your automations, views, and linked records to point to the **new** tables instead of the old (renamed) ones.

This is usually much faster than rebuilding automations and linked records from scratch in a brand-new base.
